I’m happy to announce that I’ll be teaching an intensive flash fiction workshop this fall called “Stories in a Flash” at the Los Angeles Writers’ House.
This super-intensive workshop is a crash course for writers who wish to venture into the rewarding and challenging form of Flash Fiction. Over three weekends (September 8th – October 13th), you’ll immerse yourself in published works of modern masters and learn the finer points of crafting Flash Fiction. Through writing exercises and prompts, you’ll generate two of your own compelling short-short stories (or one story and a revision). You’ll also get feedback for those stories, learn revision strategies, and explore publication markets for your work. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate and read your story at the Grotto’s Submission and Reading Party.
LA Writers’ Grotto is an exciting new writing community founded by cavemaster Claire Lin, an exceptional writer herself. Claire saw the need to create a space where writers can learn together, write together, read together, and even send out publications together. To further these goals, the LA Writers’ Grotto holds submission and reading parties, hosts a residency program, and holds writing workshops on various topics.

If you’re interested in flash fiction and if you want to experience this new, wonderful community oasis for writers, please join me for “Stories in a Flash.” There are only two spots left, so check out the class soon!
