Workshop Description: Designed for writers of all levels and genres, this workshop helps participants generate new writing in a relaxed, collaborative online environment. We discuss basic writing craft principles, focusing on how to create richly imagined characters and challenge them with conflicts that threaten their hidden, most deeply held desires. Participants put these concepts to use by writing in response to prompts aimed at provoking characters into action. Participants also share their work aloud for feedback from the class on the most evocative, exciting aspects of their writing. The goal is to generate pieces to use as inspiration for new or existing work.
Cost: $30 per weekly session; $100 for all four sessions in a monthly workshop
