In the midst of this worldwide pandemic, with most of us sequestered at home, we writers should be getting tons of work done, right?
Well….
Full confession: I’ve been having a tough time getting myself to write. I’m worried about social distancing, grocery shopping to feed my husband and son, keeping them from getting sick. Plus, with all of us home 24/7 (including a maniacal German Shepherd adolescent who’s drunk with joy and perceived power over our full house), it’s hard to find the solitude and serenity I crave when writing.
If you’re a writer and feeling the same way I am, I may be able to help. I’m teaching Prompted: A Generative Online Writing Workshop to help writers of all genres and levels generate ideas that get them excited about writing again.
Designed for writers of all levels and genres, this workshop will help participants generate new writing in a relaxed, collaborative online environment. We’ll talk about basic writing craft principles, focusing on how to create richly imagined characters and challenge them with conflicts that threaten their hidden, most deeply held desires.
Participants will put these concepts to use by writing in response to prompts aimed at provoking characters into action. Participants will also be able to share their work aloud for feedback from the class on the most evocative, exciting aspects of their writing. The goal is to generate pieces to use as inspiration for new or existing work.
Prompted will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm PST via Zoom on the following dates:
You may enroll in one or more sessions, depending on availability. Each individual session is $30. Enroll in all 4 sessions for $100.

I hope to see you soon!
