A Podcast Devoted to Discussing Short Stories

If you haven’t yet discovered the podcast Literary Roadhouse, you’re in for a treat. These thoughtful, intelligent podcasters discuss a single short story during each episode.

In addition to its original podcast, Literary Roadhouse hosts several other podcasts, including Literary Roadhouse Bookclub, The Bradbury Challenge. and Literary Podcast Discussions. There’s also a Resources section on the website that offers everything from curated short story and novel lists to a podcasting resources page.

I’ve been lucky enough to have Literary Roadhouse discuss two of my stories. The most recent one is “Once Removed,” originally published by Printers Row Journal and discussed in Episode 115 of the podcast. I was impressed by the depth and thoughtfulness of each commentator’s analysis.

Literary Roadhouse also discussed my story “La Cuesta Encantada” in Episode 67. “La Cuesta Encantada” was originally published by Carve Magazine in its Winter 2016 issue. Literary Roadhouse’s analysis of “La Cuesta” got heated and was divided along gender lines in terms of the podcasters’ reactions to the story.
